The project comprises the addition of a new complex of buildings in the grounds of the Victoria Memorial Hall (perhaps Kolkata’s most famous and prominent building - a museum attracting some 1.2 million visitors per year). The new Centre for Arts and Learning will include exhibition space, library, lecture and conference facilities, administrative offices, cafe and shop.

Conceived as a low-lying series of garden pavilions behind a colonnaded walkway, the building will be partially concealed by existing trees and will complement the architecture of the main Hall and its fine gardens.
