The building comprises a grandstand, referee’s desk, bar and storage facilities. Built to a very limited budget, the structure is wrapped around an existing flat-topped thorn tree which provides shade for the grandstand.

The building uses recycled and salvaged materials and the rough-sawn timber off-cut walls allow light and air to filter into the bar. Large sections of the walls can be opened up on tournament days to provide extra ventilation and shade below.
