“The project shows ... that it is possible to combine sensitivity and due deference to historic surroundings with confident expression of individuality and a modern identity.”

“The practice has managed to finesse a phased plan of considerable intricacy that can be achieved with minimum disruption, and which is sensitive to the dripping of the funding tap.”

Our work has given us valuable understanding of issues typically associated with educational establishments such as funding, accessibility, health and safety, energy use, licensing, fire escape strategies and security.

All our educational projects have involved working with experienced consultant teams and have been carried out within the strict constraints of fixed term times and pre-determined budgets. We are also familiar with the particular challenges of working in occupied premises and with work that is phased to enable the continued functioning of the institution.

We recognise the need for ease of maintenance, future proofing and lifecycle costing. It is our firm belief that good buildings can improve the lives of end-users and help to facilitate the highest standards of education.
